Howie in Colorado

Clean Government Colorado

The Clean Government Colorado issue committee was formed to support the Paycheck Deception and Open & Clean Government ballot initiatives in 2008. The registered agent, Michele Austin, was formerly affiliated with the 65 percent solution amendment in 2006. The Clean Government Colorado committee only received funds from one donor: the Howie Rich sponsored Colorado At its Best.

The campaign to qualify Colorado's Open and Clean Government Initiative (Amendment 54) garnered quite a bit of press in Colorado charging that the proponents have engaged in illegal actions in garner the required signatures.  The backers of these initiatives have been accused of hiring thieves and sex offenders to circulate their so called open and clean government initiative. For more information about the illegal actions of Howie Rich's circulators visit http://www.coloradofraudwatch.org/

While Amendment 54 narrowly passed in 2008, a lawsuit is currently underway which challenges the constitutionality of the measure and asks Gov. Bill Ritter and the executive director of the Department of Personnel and Administration from implementing or enforcing Amendment 54.
